The Sunshine Blogger Awards

Hi my loves! Recently, I was tagged by my wonderful fellow blogger Lauzies Lifestyle for the Sunshine Blogger Awards. Her blog has always been so interactive and supportive of mine, so I decided to accept the award and post it here for you all to read today!

The Rules for these Awards are:
  1. Thank blogger(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  2. Answer the 11 questions that the blogger asked you.
  3. Nominated 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  4. List the rules and display the sunshine blogger award logo in your post and/or on your blog.
My Answers:

1. What is the biggest regret in your life?

I think my biggest regret is letting my anxiety talk me out of situations in my life. I’ve suffered with anxiety for several years now, and while I’m in better control of it now, I haven’t always been. There are times where I wished that I would have gone out and done things instead of straying away because of my anxiety.

2. Which book has been the most influential on you?

The most influential book I’ve ever read was Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. I had to read this book for my summer reading assignment in High School and it was so eye-opening about the simplicity of life and what the true meaning of existing is.

3. If there was one person, alive or dead you could meet to spend a couple of hours with to chat, who would it be and why?

I would love to meet with Jim Morrison from The Doors. Jim is one of my favorite front-men out of all the bands I listen to, and I find him to be so interesting and intelligent. I would love to walk around Paris with him and discuss life and music!

4. Are you a cat or dog person?

Honestly, I’m a mix of both but since I currently own a little kitten named Dexter, I’m definitely more of a cat girl now.

5. If you could talk to your younger self, what would you say?

If I could give my younger self advice, I would say that no pain is temporary. I would also say that it’s okay to be yourself, no matter what anyone says or thinks. I think in my younger years, I spent a lot of time scrutinizing the negatives, but now I’m at the point in my life where I’m just saying whatever and living my life as the punches roll.

6. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

If I could have any superpower, I would love to be able to read minds. That could be a blessing in disguise, but I think it would be pretty amazing.

7. What inspires you when blogging?

I drag a lot of my inspiration for blogging from what goes on around me. If I’m scrolling through Instagram and I see a make-up look I’d like to try, I’ll go out and do it and write about it. If I’m reading a blog post that I really enjoy and would like to recreate, I’d do that as well.

8. If you could take 5 items on a desert island with you, what would they be?

  • My Cell Phone
  • A Portable Charger
  • My Cat
  • A Boat
  • Gas for the Boat

9. At what moment in your life have you felt the happiest?

I think I feel the happiest when I’m around the people that I love. It doesn’t really matter what I’m doing, as long as I’m in good company. However, specifically I think my vacation to Mexico last summer was the happiest and most care-free I’ve felt in a while.

10. What genre of music do you enjoy listening to?

I have a really vast music taste so honestly I listen to a lot of different bands and artists, but I think my favorite genre would be classic rock and hip-hop/rap.

11. What is your biggest secret? ( Don’t worry about sharing anything too personal!)

My biggest secret is that I love boys with blue eyes. I don’t know what is is about blue eyes, but I literally have an obsession with them and eyes in general when I’m attracted to someone. I find them to be so beautiful!

June Favorites

Hi my loves! I know I’m a few days late, but the ending of June creeped up on me so fast that I had no time to write this post the way I wanted to. Nevertheless, I didn’t want to leave you all without a favorites post for the month of June so better late than never 🙂

Fashion

T-Shirt Dress

Slide View: 1: BDG Morisette T-Shirt Dress

I love the simplicity of T-Shirt dresses in the summer because they’re easy and breezy, and make your outfit look much more put together than what it actually is. Essentially, you’re wearing a giant t-shirt but it actually looks like a chic dress, so who can hate on that? I love this BDG T-Shirt Dress from Urban Outfitters because it’s so soft, and is on sale right now!

Strappy Bikini

Strappy Triangle Bikini Top

Since it’s officially summer, I had to of course through in a swimwear favorite for this month. I got this adorable bikini from LA Hearts on sale this past month and I’m obsessed. The emerald green color looks amazing with a tan and I love the double strap detail!

Tube Tops

I’m a firm believer that fashion repeats itself, and that’s clearly showing in the 2000s inspired tube top. I recently picked up this baby blue tube top from Garage which is definitely giving me circa Britney Spears vibes but I love it.

Dainty Hoops

Slide View: 2: 18k Gold Plated Rhinestone Hoop Earring

I love a good hoop earring as I have mentioned before, but I love these small rhinestone hoops from Urban Outfitters. I recently got my second hole pierced, which is another favorite, and it has been fun to layer small earrings together with my new piercing.

Beauty

Tarte BB Cream

Since it’s summer, I haven’t been wearing much of foundation, however I have been wearing this Tarte BB Cream almost everyday and it has been amazing. It gives me 30+ SPF while also giving me a breathable coverage.

House of Lashes Timeless Lashes

Recently, I’ve been really getting into false lashes for events and whatnot, and I absolutely love these by the brand House of Lashes! They’re comfortable and natural looking, but give my real lashes a great boost.

B&BW Aloe Cucumber Lotion

Signature Collection CocoShea Cucumber Aloe Gel Lotion - Bath And Body Works

This Coco & Shea lotion from Bath & Body Works has been my best friend this past month when it came to visits to the beach. If you’ve ever been sunburnt, you know that Aloe is a holy grail item for scorched skin. However, even when I’m not sunburnt this is an amazing product to use after the shower to keep my skin hydrated all summer long.

TV Shows

Dexter

This month, I have been obsessed with the TV Show Dexter. It was originally on Showtime, but all of the seasons are on Netflix and it quickly has become one of my all time favorite shows. If you love murder shows, you’ll definitely love this one!

Orange is the New Black

Of course, I couldn’t not mention the release of the newest season of OITNB as one of my monthly favorites. This show is another classic favorite of mine, and this season definitely did not disappoint.

Thank you everyone for reading this month’s favorites! I hope you all had a lovely June and are having an even better July! ❤ I’m going on a mini vacation next week so I’m going to try to pre-write as many blog posts as I can but if I can’t, I will see you all on Sunday and then the following week.

If you’re planning on going on a fancier dinner or to a party that requires more than just a t-shirt and jeans, this floral maxi dress from H&M is the perfect party attire. Paired with a low-heeled sandal from Sam Edelman that matches the relaxed yet still dressy vibe from this outfit.

'Merica AF

If you really want to show of your Fourth of July spirit, a pair of American Flag shorts are the perfect way to express it. These shorts paired with a simple white crop top, both from Francesca’s, are a great compliment for each other. To keep the look cool and casual, just throw on your favorite white tennis shoe. I love the high-top Converse because they’re so versatile (and are red, white & blue!)

A Day at the Beach

If you’re spending your holiday at the beach, no worries! You can still look cute and festive in a red, white, or blue bikini. I love this cheeky one piece from Forever 21 because it gives a sexy twist on a classic bathing suit style.

Pool Party Vibes

If you’re spending your day by the pool, a cute cover-up is always a great option to throw on in between dips because it’s light and breathable. This cover-up that I found from Pinterest would be perfect to throw on over any swimsuit!

Thank you all for reading today’s blog post! Enjoy your day off and I will see you all soon.

My Favorite Lush Bath Bombs 2

Hi my loves! A couple of months ago on my blog I made a post about my favorite Lush bath bombs, which I will link here if you haven’t already read that post. Today, I thought I would do a follow-up because I have tried more bath bombs since then and I’d like to share them with you all 🙂

The Comforter

The Comforter

The name of this bath bomb definitely says it all! The Comforter is a delicious smelling blackcurrant bubble bar that gives you a luxurious and relaxing soak. It also turns your water a gorgeous pink color and gives the water a milky consistency, which is great if you’re one who suffers with dry skin.

Brightside

Brightside

The Brightstide Bubble Bar is another amazing bath bomb, but with a refreshing twist. The citrus scents actually help you feel more energized and cheerful while you’re soaking in it. I absolutely love the smell of citrus so this bath bomb was a definite win for me, and you can even cut it up and plop a piece in your next shower if you don’t have time for a bath to give your steam a revitalizing citrus-y scent.

Yoga Bomb

Yoga Bomb

First of all, the name of this bath bomb is just as adorable as most, but the Yoga Bomb? That’s seriously adorable. This bath bomb is the epitome of relaxation with it’s high sandalwood notes. I love woods-y fragrances as well, I find them very relaxing, and this bath bomb is nothing short of that. This bath bomb fizzes instead of creating bubbles, but it has amazing essential oils infused with it to really help relax your mind and body.

Tisty Tosty

Tisty Tosty

In my first bath bomb post, I talked about Sex Bomb, which is another delicious smelling bath bomb with a jasmine fragrance. This bath bomb is very similar to that, but it also adds a touch of rose, which is another one of my favorite scents. It even is infused with real rose petals that float around in your water while you soak!

Sakura

Another bath bomb with an amazing jasmine fragrance (can you tell I like jasmine?). This bath bomb however, is infused with baking soda and sea salt, that formulates an amazing skin exfoliate. When I was done with this bath, my skin felt so soft and moisturized it was heavenly. I also love the light hint of mimosa that this bath bomb radiates because it really mimics the scent of a gorgeous spring day.

Thank you all for reading today’s blog post! I hope you all enjoyed reading my second installment of bath bomb favorites, and if you have any other favorite Lush products to recommend to me, please leave a comment down below 🙂

Brand Focus: BH Cosmetics

Hi loves! Today I thought I would do another Brand Focus for you all, and talk about an amazing online brand named BH Cosmetics. If you want to see what my favorite products from this brand are, then please keep reading!

The Carli Bybel Palette

It’s not shock to any of my readers that this palette is one of the best products BH has to offer. This palette comes with a variety of warm-toned eye-shadow shades, along with 4 blinding highlighters. For $15, this palette is an absolute STEAL. The pigmentation and quality of the eyshadows are so well made, and they blend beautifully. The only thing I have to say is watch for fall out, but besides that, this has become one of my favorite palettes of all time!

The 88 Neutral Eye-shadow Palette

Image result for bh cosmetics 88 neutral palette

If you thought that the Carli Bybel Palette’s price-point was a steal, just wait til you here about this palette. For 88 pigmented shadows in all neutral tones, you pay only $12. Yes.. $12 for 88 eye-shadows. Yes the size of the shadows are about the equivalent to a dime, however I highly doubt you will ever hit pan on any of these shades because of how much of them are in the palette.

Loose Glitter Eye Pigments

I am a sucker for glitter, especially loose glitter because I love the pigmentation. However, it’s hard for me to try and find a loose glitter that actually stays on my eye instead of falling all over my face. The BH glitters are highly pigmented and have great staying power. I apply the glitter with some glitter glue adhesive from NYX and it looks amazing!

Brush Sets

By far, my favorite thing about BH Cosmetics has to be there brush sets. I just ordered my first brush roll from them and I am so so pleased. The entire kit was under $20 for over 20 brushes and the quality is impeccable. My brushes don’t shed, they pick up product well, and they’re easy to clean and store. I have always tried to find the perfect brush set and I think with BH I have finally found them!

Thank you all for reading today’s blog post! I’d love to know some of your favorite BH Cosmetics products down below 🙂

Summer Hair Mask Recipe

Hi my loves! Recently I tried out a Hair Mask Recipe that I found online and I thought I would repost it for any of my readers who feel like their hair is not at the top of it’s game right now. I know in the summer my hair often feels dry because of constantly having it in water, so I found a DIY hair mask that can help combat some of those tresses. Best part is? It only takes 3 ingredients!

Step 1: Collect your Ingredients

  • 1/2 of an avocado
  • 2 egg yolks
  • olive oil

Step 2: Mix the Ingredients & Apply

  • Put all the ingredients in a small bowl and mix them together. Make sure to whip them up so they make a smooth cream texture.
  • Apply to your hair & Keep the Mixture in for about 15 min
  • Make sure your hair is dry when applying the mask
  • Wrap your hair in sandwich wrap or pull your hair into a bun and cover it with a plastic bag so that your hair doesn’t stain or damage anything around you.

Step 3: Rinse

  • After rinsing, I added some deep conditioner by Garnier Fructis to really lock in the moisture.
  • I also brushed my hair through which is CRUCIAL, for this mask to really work because you want all the product to be distributed evenly.

After you have finished all the steps… Ta-Da! Your hair should be feeling smooth and recharged with moisture and shine added. I hope you all enjoyed this blog post and I will see you all soon for my next one!

The Beauty Blogger Tag 2

Hi my loves! A couple months ago I did the “Beauty Blogger Tag”, where I shared my answers to some common beauty questions. Since a lot of you seemed to enjoy the first part, today I’m going to do a sequel and answer some different questions about my take on the beauty world!

1. What is your natural hair color?

I currently have my hair dyed my natural color, which is a dark brown. However, my hair has been a million shades of brown, along with red, purple, black, ombre, and highlighted! Ever since I was in 8th grade I have been changing up my hair color, but for the past year I’ve stuck with brown/black.

2. How often do you wash your hair?

I wash my hair about every 2 days. However, I could honestly go longer if I wanted to because I don’t have naturally oily hair.

3. Will you ever leave the house without makeup?

Of course! As much as I love make-up, I don’t feel like I always have to wear it. I think embracing natural beauty is just as important as embracing everything that God has given you, flawed or not.

4. How long does it take you to do your make-up?

I would say anywhere between 10-45 minutes, it honestly depends how much make-up I’m wearing and what I’m doing.

5. Do you read the comments on your blog posts?

Of course! I read every comment and respond to almost everyone. I think that reacting with your readers is so important.

6. What kind of camera do you use for your photos?

I actually use my IPhone camera for product shots but for some of my outfit of the day posts, they were shot from a Cannon camera.

7. What type of skin do you have?

Personally, I think I have dry skin but it’s also more combination sometimes than others, so I guess I’m combination-dry? I’m not really too sure, but I don’t really get oily unless I’m sweating, dryness has always been my issue. However, I do have somewhat acne prone skin, so I often use products directed for that.

8. What is your current facial cleanser?

Right now, I’m using the Pacifica Kale Detox Deep Cleansing Face Wash. I have been loving this face wash because it works great for my acne prone skin, and I feel like it really deep cleans and gets into my pores.

9. What is a “make-up crime” that you hate?

One thing that bugs me is when eyebrows don’t look natural, I don’t usually judge other girls make-up because I think make-up is up for interpretation but personally I think that over-filled or non-blended eyebrows look a little crazy.

10. Do you use drugstore makeup?

Absolutely! I think there are plenty of make-up products at the drugstore that are just as good, if not better, than some high-end. I think if you get good quality, and can save money, then it’s a win-win!

Thank you all so much for reading today’s blog post, enjoy your Tuesday!

xoxo
